Community Goodwill
Each Father’s Day, the Pete & Thomas Foundation partners with community organizations to honor and support fathers who have demonstrated remarkable resilience and dedication to their families. Through care packages, luncheons, and recognition events, the Foundation highlights the efforts of fathers who have overcome significant challenges while serving as role models to provide meaningful support to fathers as they continue to rebuild their lives and strengthen family bonds.
In 2023, the Pete & Thomas Foundation surprised 20 fathers with care packages, gift cards, and tickets to an Astros game. We partnered with the Community Re-Entry Program of the Houston Health Department and the City of Houston to identify deserving fathers who graduated from the program
In 2022, the Pete & Thomas Foundation partnered with Volunteers of America Texas to host a luncheon and provide care packages to 10 fathers in the Community Reentry Network Program. Since 2017, VOA Texas, Houston office has successfully integrated back into the community more than 300 previously incarcerated men and women, with over 90% achieving financial stability: through attaining gainful employment, building savings, improving credit, securing safe/affordable housing, and connecting back to family and loved ones.
